Thank you for visiting us today.
We have a wonderful inventory of origami books and paper, sumi-e (brush painting) supplies, and hundreds of Japanese papers for arts, crafts, and gift wrapping.
When in San Francisco come and visit our store – located in Japantown on the outdoor pedestrian mall one block north of the landmark Peace Pagoda of the Japan Center. In the meantime, give us a call if we can help you find the supplies you need.
Please check back with us in the coming months as we add many of the great products we carry in our "brick and mortar" shop in San Francisco.

'ORIGAMI in the Gallery'
Come see our newest exhibit- PRIMATES! These amazing origami models are from the 2008 origami challenge 'Primate, Non-Human', issued by Dr. Robert J. Lang. Participants are some of the top origami creators today, including Brian Chan, Joseph Wu and Sy Chen. The only rule is fold from a single, uncut square. The Primates will be on display through April 2010.

Also in our Gallery are the works of origami masters Robert J. Lang, Bernie Peyton and Goran Konjevod.
2009 Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival
This year, the Paper Tree celebrates it's 42nd year of participation in the San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival. In 1967, as part of the festival's Cultural Arts, sisters Vicky Mihara Avery and Linda Mihara sat at a table demonstrating Origami in front of Paper Tree's original location in the Japan Center. Through the years, the Origami exhibit has grown to include live demonstrations, amazing exhibits and tables staffed with volunteers who teach simple origami models to festival goers. It's the only inter-active exhibit in the festival.
This year, the Origami exhibit and demonstration will take place during April 11-12, from 11AM- 5PM, at the Hotel Kabuki, 1625 Post St, in Garden Room A. Catch our new exhibit, 'ORIGAMI in the Gallery' at our store location at 1743 Buchanan Mall.
Vicky Mihara Avery won runner up at the 2007 Scotch Brand Most Gifted Wrapper Contest in New York City. |
